14.05.19 – ‘Oblivion’ won third place in the independent photographer’s 2019 landscape competition.

“The infinite range of beauty found in the natural world, above and below, remains a true wonder and reminds us that our habitat should be treated with humility and respect. Within each landscape photographer lays a deep passion for our planet that of course, transcend in his work. This aerial shot of an Icelandic river mouth with it’s richness of tonal range, ethereal colors and stunning texture elevates the image to an otherworldly painting that only poetry could describe.”

08.12.18 – ‘Tree of life’ was featured as the smithsonian magazine's photo of the day.

"Tree of Life is a photographic aerial abstraction of the majestic and visceral Shark Bay landscape. In the photo, a large estuary takes a tree-like form during low tide."

Tree of Life was a single entry submission to the 16th Annual Smithsonian.com photo contest listed under the category natural world. A few days after submission it became an editor's pick before becoming photo of the day for the smithsonianmag.com.

‘Wadi Rum’ was selected as one of The Independent Photographer's 10 Editor's Picks of July's 2018 Travel Competition.

"A cathedral of towering rocky peaks forms one of the most diverse landscapes in the world. Wadi Rum is a protected desert wilderness in southern Jordan. It features dramatic sandstone mountains like the many-domed Jebel Um Ishrin, and natural arches such as Burdah Rock Bridge."

Following the results of last month’s Travel Photography Award, judged by TIP member Frédéric Lagrange, we want to share some of the competition entries that didn’t make it to the final selection round but impressed by their overall qualities and stayed with us.

My photo "Tree of Life" was selected as one of The Independent Photographer's 10 Editor's Picks of April's 2018 Landscape Competition.

“Any landscape is a condition of the spirit” – Henri Frederic Amiel, Philosopher

Following the results of last month’s Landscape Photography Award, judged by Italian photographer Luca Tombolini, we’d like to share some of the competition entries that didn’t make it to the final but impressed us by their overall strength and quality.

We received a broad variety of landscape images coming from many talented photographers and even though we couldn’t give an award to every entrant we would like to share the work of some of the artists whose images are showing both talent and character, a selection of photographs well worthy of exposure.

Thank you for taking part in the award and sharing your passion with us!

"The Shimmer" placed 3rd as an Honorary Mention in The Independent Photographer's April 2018 Landscape Competition.

Honorary Mention: Steven Manolakis

“A spectacular palette of colors and textures displays all the complexity and majesty of the earth’s surface from above. Perfectly framed, this abstract aerial shot is a gentle reminder of all the beauty and fragility that can be found in nature: An eternal source of inspiration that deserves no less than our utmost care, and respect.”
